Loading tracks from streaming services is always longer than loading tracks from the host local storage (computer or smartphone).
Bandwidth needed
The higher the audio resolution, the higher the bandwidth needed, and the higher the response time:
Audio resolutions
- Beatport: 128 and 256 kbps AAC
- Beatsource: 128 and 256 kbps AAC
- Qobuz: 320 kbps AAC (standard), 1,411 kbps PCM (hifi), from 1,018 to 6,971 (Flac) or 9,216 (PCM) kbps in Hi-Res audio
- SoundCloud: 128 and 256 kbps AAC
- Tidal: 320 kbps AAC (standard), 1,411 kbps PCM (hifi), and high-res audio (from 1,018 to 6,971 Flac and higher in PCM) in Masters, with HiFi Plus subscription
Internet access
An ADSL or 4G internet access is needed to stream music in a computer or a smartphone. An optical fiber or a 5G internet access is comfortable to stream music in a computer or a smartphone. If your computer shares the internet bandwidth with bandwidth hungry devices as a TV Set Top boxes, then to avoid latency/audio drops caused by this other device grabbing most of the internet bandwidth, you may
- either not use the TV set top box while DJing,
- or reduce the video resolution in the set top box menus during your DJi sessions, too keep some bandwidth for your computer.
Computer settings
If you can do it, use an ethernet (wired) connection to your computer.
Wifi is workable, but its bandwidth and response time cannot match with the bandwidth and response time of an ethernet connection.
Wifi is CPU intensive, especially in Windows, so that a Windows computer whose wifi is not disabled cannot be considered as optimized for real time processing as Djing.
If you have a home internet network, check the bandwidth of the ethernet switch connected to internet box: a 100-Mbps ethernet switch would be a bottleneck, a-1000 Mbps bandwidth is OK.
Computer latency
Except for tracks loading and analysis which are really slower from a music streaming services, other DJing operations should be as fast whether you mix local tracks or streamed tracks, so if you feel it seems slower when played tracks from a streaming service, you should make sure you have enough free memory on your computer in closing any background program. If your Windows computer lacks memory, it may use a fraction of the hard disk as a virtual memory, but the memory swap to access this section of the hard disk data is slower than reading data in the actual RAM.

Most DJ software let you play the mix on computer speakers while using the DJ controller built-in audio, at least for the preview.
In Serato:
• go in Settings > Audio • check the field: use laptop speakers
In Djuced,
• go in Settings > Audio
• as Audio device, select the dj controller built in audio interface
• as Output, check the outputs of the DJ controller for Master and Headphones
• In “Send master to computer speakers”, select the computer audio device
In VirtualDJ
• Go in Settings > Audio
• In the Outputs thumbnails, check Speaker+Headphone
• In Hardware thumbnails, select the DJController with built-in audio
• In Outputs lists, you should see the Master and the Headphones of the controller
• Click on + sign on bottom right of the Outputs list
• Select the computer audio interface as Master output

Windows power saving mode saves power by switching of the USB bus power, which disturbs most USB audio / video devices.
So to get rid of this setting: 1) Press Win+X keys, to display the Windows Quick Access menu 2) Select Device Manager in the list 3) Click on "USB Serial Bus controllers" to display the list 4) Find the first line with hub (USB hub, USB Root Hub, Generic USB hub...) 5) Right-click on the line and select Properties
6) Click on "Power Management'" tab, and uncheck the field "Allow this computer to turn off this device to save power"

7) Click on OK 8) Find the second line with hub in the name among the list of "USB Serial Bus controllers" 9) Go back to step 5 and do the same operations ... and so on until you have removed this setting from all your USB ports.

USB audio quality is related to
- computer settings,
- computer power,
- USB settings and USB connection,
- audio drivers (Audio or WASAPI mode)
- the speakers, amplifier or headphones use
so in case of audio quality with USB audio devices, the needed pieces of information are 1) A description of the computer environment
- computer brand and model, and the type of computer (laptop or desktop)
- USB audio device brand, model and audio drivers version
- Windows or macOS version
- USB connection (direct USB port or via a USB hub or via a USB-C converter, brand & model of the USB-C converter, type of USB port (USB 2, USB 3, USB-C))
- speakers or headphones brand & model, which input on speakers if speakers have several inputs.
2) A description of the audio issue
- type of sound issue: noise, hiss, crakles, ....
- is it constant hear even when playing silence or do you hear it only when playing sound
- if you hear it in speakers, do you hear it also in headphones, and vice-versa?

To play an external audio source in Djuced, you need to use audio device with an audio input (mic or line or phono), as DJControl Inpulse 500 which has a line input (Aux).
1) Set Djuced display in 4-deck mode
2) Go in Djuced Settings > Audio
3) Enable the audio input on a deck, for example Deck 3

4) Click on OK to go back to Djuced main display
5) In Djuced main display, click on the deck figure number to select the deck contents

6) Djuced then plays the external source on the deck instead of a track

To control 4 decks with 2 2-deck controllers, you must
- control virtual decks 1 and 2 with one controller we call primary controller
- control virtual decks 3 and 4 with another controller we call secondary controller.
Djuced 5 cannot support twice the same controller, you need 2 different models, for example DJControl Inpulse 200 and primary controller and DJControl Starlight as secondary controller.
The secondary controller needs a specific mapping to control decks 3 and 4: this mapping is included in Djuced 5.0.8 for P32 DJ and DJControl Compact, and new mappings downloadable from Hercules support website for DJControl Starlight, DJControl Inpulse 200, 300 and 500.
Use 2 controllers in Djuced,
1) If the secondary mapping is not included yet in Djuced, copy the xml mapping file
- in Windows, in the folder C:\Users\YourName\DJUCED\midi
- in macOS in folder MacintoshHD > Users > YourName > Documents > DJUCED > midi
2) connect the 2 DJ controllers to computer,
3) run Djuced
4) In Djuced, go in Settings> Mapping
5) Select the controller you plan to set as secondary controller, and click on Next
6) Select the mapping for deck 3 4 in the mapping list, and click on OK
  7) You come back to Djuced mixing interface, and you see a short pop up screen of the last mapping you have loaded.
 8) To avoid any issue, I recommend to close Djuced, and restart it.
9) Then in Djuced, select a 4-deck interface, for example "4Decks Horizontal" for a large screen, "4Decks vertical" for a small screen.
And that's it, you control decks 1 and 2 with the primary controller and decks 3 and 4 with the secondary controller.

The rubber paint on plastic surfaces often become sticky after some years (how fast rubber paint turns into sticky layer depends on temperature and air wetness).
The easiest cleaner to remove this sticky paint is alcohol, which dissolves the paint and dries by itself.
If the area to clean has no labels or marks (as jog wheel's ring), there is no risk to delete any label with alcohol, so you can use a cloth: - choose a soft non abrasive coth - pour alcohol on the cloth - rub the sticky area with the cloth.
If the area to clean has holes difficult to reach, then you may use a soft toothbrush - make sure the toothbrush bristles are soft - pour alcohol on the brisles - gently rub the sticky area with the toothbrush.
Il the area to clean has also some labels, as the alcohol may delete the labels, you can use Q-tips: - pour alcohol on the cotton of the Q-tip, - gently rub the sticky areas with the Q-tip in making sure the Q-tip avoids the labels.
You may also use WD-40 or hydroalcoholic gel instead of alcohol.

Faders are the most fragile part of any DJ controller, so one must be very careful when cleaning them. One must never rub the carbon track (called taper) on the ground of the fader, so one should never touch it. If a fader has dust or rust particles, on should: - take a blow off air duster with a thin straw - put the straw in the fader without touching the ground - blow off any particule - then take a vacuum cleaner and try to grab all these dust or rust particles.
