Usually I see OBS in use when one is streaming or recording his/her mix. Recently I got access to Prezi and although it's meant for business and education, I decided to try if it's usable as a DJ tool as well. Here's the result. What do you think?

Hi,

Pretty cool, it raises a few questions

Do you use a paid or a free version of the prezi app to get this result?

How much time did it take to prepare this video/animation with this prezi app?

Are the animated DJ drawings delivered inside the app or did you import them into the app?

Are there tools to synchronize animated drawings with your music, for example with dancers on the beat of the music?

Can you import/export easily the track subtitle from a text or xml file?

I suppose you streamed from another computer, so did you try also a similar streaming performed on the same computer as the one you already use to play the DJ app?

Hello,
- This was a long time ago, but if I recall correctly I was using the paid version - however I didn't do anything which couldn't be done with a free account.
- I don't remember... But I guess it was not that timeconsuming. The template was given, basically all I had to do was looking up those animations in the built-in library search
- Prezi can look up such gifs, but I don't remember where. But it's there, so should't be a problem.
- Answering the following two questions together: No, Prezi is a presentation app. The company I was working for bought a license and the sales guy (customer happiness manager) as it turned out was a DJ as well. I made this video for him pitching the idea it could be used this way as well with a few modifications. So again, no - you cannot do anything like that with it. You can even see when I change the slides... :)
- I used the same laptop for DJing and recording this session.

Hi,

Thanks for the answers.

Here come further questions:

a) Can you interface Prezi directly with an audio device playing ASIO (as for Serato DJ Windows), or does Prezi needs a Wasapi audio device?

b) Has Prezi a virtual audio device to mix for example your music streaming + a séparate audio from microphone?

c) Did you feel noticeable latency in the DJ app with the computer performing  DJ Mix + displaying video&text + streaming the video?

d) Do you feel if your computer would have been able to mix music streamed from SoundCloud, so:
- Play 1 audio streamings from a service as Soundcloud service
- Mix tracks in the DJ app
- Film and add text/images over the video
- Stream the audio + video on a streaming service

Hello,

Like I've said, it was a long time ago I did this. Prezi Video is first and foremost a presentation tool, it can't do much else - I was only tinkerint with it. So first I have created a set. Then I did the presentation part (designing the slides and write the track names). Prezi Video installs a virtual camera as well to merge the presentation with the video, so when I recorded the live mix, I did it with it - you can see me reaching out to switch the slides. The audio part was easy - both Djuced and Serato can send the master signal to a secondary output as well, and since Serto DJ Pro installed its own virtual audio "cable", I set that in Djuced / Serato (I think I used Djuced in this case) to utilise it - and in Prezi Video I've set it as the sound input. And basically that was all. Prezi Video is kind of "dumb" in this regard - but that's perfectly fine since it's main use is to spice up a bit those boring orporate meeting presentations and online meetings. So it doesn't have any mixing capabilites - the target market doesn't need it). And since I was monitoring my set through my regular way, there was no latency.
