hello,
i have had the inpulse 500 for a couple of years and it has be great except now the crossfader doesnt seem to be working properly. it seems to be performing like it has a short? when i slide it to the left all the way, on my dj software (virtual dj) it it somewhere in the middle of left and middle. sliding the crossfader from left to right/right to left slowly will cause the fader on vdj to jump a lot. its definitely a hardware issue but im not sure what i can do the troubleshoot this. is there a way to fix this issue...or replace the crossfader?

Hello DJ Clint Zer0,

I have sent you an invitation at
https://www.herculesdjmixroom.com/en-us/account/friends/

Please accept it and send me private message with
"Hercules Inpulse 500 crossfader issue.."
and a link to this discussion as contents, so that I send you a calibration process in private messaging to test whether the issue you meet can be solved by recalibrating the crossfader.

And in case you wonder why I send such information only in private messaging, it just because I try not to post on public pages any file or document which is not public.

Hello DJ Clint Zer0,

As you have recalibrated the controller and still have a jump at a position, then either:

- there is dust on the taper of the fader, and you can remove it with a dusting spray as
https://www.amazon.com/CHEMTRONICS-ES1017-DUSTER-TRIGGER-10FL-OZ/dp/B0091I7PIW/
https://www.amazon.com/Endust-10oz-Multi-Purpose-Duster-Bitterant/dp/B00PV178GW/
just make sure the straw does not touch the taper in the ground of the crossfader as if it removes a part of the taper, the crossfader will not work well

- the taper (the carbon layer on the ground of the crossfader) is damaged and then the solution is to replace the crossfader (it requires unsoldering the croassfader so it is better to check if it is not simply dust on the taper).

Hello Swt Love,

Welcome to the forum.

A technical forum is adequate to solve technical issues which are described with technical details.
If you are ready to spend 10 minutes to describe your technical problem with technical details, a forum is useful. If you cannot provide technical details, I am afraid you cannot get an efficient help on a forum, and it is better to call Hercules technical support.

What is your complete configuration: please complete your profile here as if you geive not technical information, no forum can provide an efficient technical, so in your profile, please in:

  - complete Hercules equipment in use: check the name of your DJ controller in the list
  - Software in use: check the name of the controller in the list
  - Describe your equipment: precise your computer brand and model, CPU, RAM, operating system (for example is it Windows 11), precise your DJConsole driver package, for example 2023_HDJS_1, and your release of Djuced 18.

What is precisely your problem, when does it occur?
