Hello guys,

since i got my DJcontrol Inpulse 300 on january, i wondered why there is no option to play a "idle animation".
So the last 3 week i had vacation and i started to program a little tool myself.

!!!THE TOOL ONLY WORKS WITH THE HERCULES DJCONTROL INPULSE 300!!!

It's made with VB.net 2019.
After starting the tool is running in systray and connets to your
Inpulse 300 automaticly. If its not connected the tool closes on start.
For the Animations to work the Decks needs to be on Hot Cue Mode for the Pads 1 to 8 to light up.
By hovering over the icon on systray you can see the current Speed setting (default: LED Switching Speed: 50ms and Shuffle speed 20s)
Right-click on the icon you can open a help-picture and exit the tool.

BEFORE STARTING YOUR MIXING PROGRAM YOU NEED TO EXIT THE TOOL!
OTHERWISE BOTH TOOLS ARE USING THE CONTROLLER ON THE SAME TIME!

There are currently 8 animations.

Controls:
Deck A - Play: Reset all
Deck A CUE: All LED's on
Deck A SHIFT: Shuffle animations
Deck A 1-8: start single animation
Deck A jog wheel:  LED Switching Speed (20ms to 2s)
Deck B jog wheel:
Shuffle Speed (5s to 60s)

Just download and unzip, the exe needs to be in same folder as the Bass.Net.dll included in the zip.

Suggestions, bugs and creativity
are welcome.
I will frequently update the thread with the newest version.

Hello Scarala,

Its is really cool.

I have 2 sugestions:

1) demo video: backlights would be more visible if your video was shot in the darkness.

2) program: you may perform the same MIDI actions (receive commands from the controller -> send commands to animate the backlights) via a web page with Google Chrome as internet browser, as Chrome can receive & send MIDI commands.
The benefit of doing it in a web page for Google Chrome would be:
- most users would not need to install any software, as is installed on many computers today (Chrome has 67% share in desktop/laptops according to netmarketshare)
- a web page provides the interface to describe the light show in sync with the user sending commands on the controller,
- you may update / add light animation scenarios very easily in a web page,
- you may get the user feedback on the web page.
I confess I write this message on Safari, not on Chrome, so I do not use only Chrome, but Chrome is the leading browser.

Thanks for your answer @User Experience Team

To your suggestions:

1) yes i see, i will reshoot this.

2) the idea is great but I am absolutely not in php and javascript programming, i'll check that and take a look how complicated the midi api is to learn. It would have so much positive aspects to do this with chrome.
Maybe if i can do it i will make lightshows for some other hercules consoles too...

Until then:Stay healthy and take care!
