Hi All,

I have the DJ Control Instinct, I am looking to use features like Facebook live to do some small broadcasts as well as some Videos of me mixing. Im having issues getting a decent sound quality through the iPhone/iPad. I have looked up what I needed, and beleive that I have the right cables. but I am still struggling to get the quality sound and not the tinny sound you get from recording throught the phone/ipad microphone for the videos. Is someone able to help me on what I need to do?

I have a macbook (standard version), computer speakers (3.5mm plug), Rode SC4 adaptor, AUX cables and RCA cables.

Can someone paint the picture for me so I spread some beautiful music to the world. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance Guys

Pikey

Hello,

Regarding the audio

1 - either you want to record yourself speaking, and then recording the iPad/phone is the proper way, you should

2- or you want to record your music, and then the best would be to record the sound inside Djuced 18 itself, instead of recording in the iPhone or iPad (or to record in another DJ software if you use another DJ software).
  • a) set the best quality of recording in Djuced: Go in Djuced 18 > Settings > Record and set a compression rate for a good quality (between 7 and 10)
  • b) set a high volume in Djuced (the Vol button over the Main Vol button),
  • c) Press the Rec button, between deck A and deck B, to record your mix
  • d) once you have recorded the audio in the Mac and the video in the iPad/iPhone, you can edit the video track + the audio track together in a software as iMovie in your Mac.

PS: You should fill your profile in clicking on "My Space"> "My Profile"

Hello,

There are 2 ways to do a name drop sample:

1) A Sample with just your name
a -  Connect a (good) microphone to your computer
b - Install a recording software, as Audacity or Wavosaur
c -  Set your microphone input as input source in the recording software
d - Record your voice saying your name, with the tone you want
It is better to use a tone close from your natural voice, since you when make annoucements during the party, if your name drop sample is far from your voice in annoucements, the audience may think you have taken the mix of someone else, with his/her name drops.
e - In the recording software, cut the sound before and after your name, so that it loops OK.
f - Save the sample in WAV format, to use it in your mix.

2) A sample with your name + a music loop
a -  Find a loop/sound you want to use as background in your name drop.
b - Make sure its length fits with the time needed to say your name.
c - Connect a (good) microphone to your computer
d - Install a recording software, as Audacity or Wavosaur
e -  Set your microphone input as input source in the recording software
f - Record your voice saying your name, with the tone you want
It is better to use a tone close from your natural voice, since you when make annoucements during the party, if your name drop sample is far from your voice in annoucements, the audience may think you have taken the mix of someone else, with his/her name drops.
g - In the recording software, cut the sound before and after your name, so that it loops OK.
h - Save the sample in WAV format, to use it in your mix.

If your microphone input is not good enough, you can record your voice on a smartphone.

Hello,

DJ Console Rmx microphone input is mixed in hardware on the master output, so the DJ software does not record the microphone by default: mixing the microphone input in hardware avoids the software latency.

To record the microphone input, here is the process:
In VirtualDJ 5 DJC
In VirtualDJ 8 pro
