problems with new sound card and VDJ

I just installed a new sound card, a cheap c-media 5.1 channel I got from ebay, because I was having issues with the on board audio on my computer. well it seems to work fine for 2 channel stuff like FL studio demo I am running, but all goes awry when I try to use Virtual DJ. VDJ was working fine before but now it's all screwed up. I can't seem to select an option that I'm sure was there before to have headphones + speakers, although 4 channel card it showing. ASIO is also showing and I use that, but the cueing, mixing and fading don't work. When I fade from one side to the next, I still hear it, and sometimes the sound is overdriven on one deck, and the cue headphones don't work at all. Yes, I got the latest driver. Any idea what to try? I want to use just this on my desktop since I get a nice 12ms latency with ASIO for all. changing to the regular driver in VDJ does not help. Hope I can fix this, I guess I can go back to my on board sound, but I was gettin lockups on my computer caused by the sound driver and I needed to replace it. Thanks for the help.

Bonjour,

Cela fait déja un moment que j'ai acheté et que j'utilise un DJ control mp3 qui fonctionne sans problèmes (sous xp pro).

Seulement, voila deux jours que je suis passé a window 7, et voila le hic :

le pilote de ma table de mixage ne s'installe pas correctement, il s'installe comme d'habitude avec le logiciel, mais la table n'est pas détecté au lancement de virtual dj.

J'ai déja effectué une recherche automatique de pilote via Window sans succés. j'ai jeté un oeil sur le site de hercule mais je ne trouve pas de mise a jour disponible.

Si vous auriez des informations, cela m'aiderai beaucoup.

Hallo,

ich hab eine gebrauchte Konsole gekauft mit VDJ.
Jetzt meine Frage:

Welche Timecode CDs empfehlt Ihr?
Wie konfiguriere ich diese?

Ich bin als mobiler DJ tätig und habe auch schon mit Traktor LE und BMP Studio Professional ohne Midi gearbeitet.
Ich hatte als erstes IMIX aber das ist schrott, danach hatte ich VCI-300 aber Serato Itch gefällt mir nicht.
Dann hab ich mir Reloop Digital DJ Interface geholt, aber ich bin zu der Erkenntniss gekommen, für was brauch ich 2 Mischpulte und deswegen hab ich die Hercules RMX geholt, da diese 2 Geräteeingänge hat und auch symetrische Ausgänge.
Hab somit Equpment gespart das ich aufbauen muss.
Was mich interessiert. Bei PCabsturz läuft die Konsole weiter, wenn ich CD-Player angeschlossen habe, oder ist dann alles aus?

Drivers won't install- error message

I downloaded the newest drivers for my DJ control steel and tried to run the exe but get a windows error message that says setup.exe has encountered an error and needs to close. I tried a reboot and nothing works. It just won't run. My computer is running fine and everything else works. I am sure I got the correct version for windows xp. I do have media center edition I hope that is not an issue. Any ideas? If the driver won't install I can't use this thing! My Vista laptop gives a similar error messgage. This looks like a new version #4. I thought it would be better to use the new version. I'll try the old version on the disc, which is #3 I think.

Je poste ici car déjà posté sur le forum VDJ parce que je voudrais un avis libre de marque surtout au point de vue logiciel.

Voici ma configurration:

PC Acer Aspire 7730 G ; Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5800 2.00 GHZ
RAM, 4.00 Go (2.96 Go utilisable)
Système d'exploitation 32 bits
Windows Vista, mis à jour SEVEN officiel.

Hercules RMX et VDJ 6.0.5 pro (légal)

Malgrés tous mes efforts, et la bonne configuation reprise sur différents postes, rien ne tournant en arrière plan, je suis toujours sujet au bug fatal.

J'ai essayé de me dépanner avec un Acer Ferrari 3000 (ancien modèle) celui-ci m'a lâché. Ce qui est normal, CPU ne suivait pas et la surchauffe l'a mit en sécurité. Par contre, pas le bug dont je vais vous parler plus loin. Notez que celui-ci tourne sous XP.

J'en reviens à mon 7730 qui m'a tout de même couté 800 € il y a 20 mois, tout propre et tout ce qu'il y a de plus légal, programmes parfaitements à jour et propre.

Sans aucune raison, je ne suis en train de rien faire d'autre, VDJ s'arrêtte en pleine lecture.
Je peux toujours aller dans le registre Mp3 mais rien de se charge et rien ne démarre.
Je suis obligé de rebooter Vdj pour reprendre la lecture jusqu'au prochain bug qui viendra, je ne sais quand...

Je vous jure que c'est très stressant, saoulant et décevant. On est tendu toute la soirée et j'en ai vraiment ras la casquette.

On m'a parlé de freeze de windows dans le passé. Je coyais qu'en investissant dans une licence Seven, celà se résoudrait.
Et bien que nenni, ça continue.

Alors, si je fais le compte: PC 800 euros, licence Seven 150 €, Rmx, 300 euros, VDJ pro 150 € = à la louche 1400 euros pour un matos pas fiable du tout.

Je ne sais plus quoi faire.
Tout en sachant que je suis dans le forum VDJ ou je me plais bien et dont j'apprécie beaucoup l'interface du programme, je me pose la question.

Soit acheter un pc neuf, genre Asus, Dell à 800 euros. (sorry pour les Mac)
Soit essayer de placer XP sur mon Acer.
Soit essayer une version de Traktor.

S'il vous plait, soyez objectif pas pro marque ou pro logiciel.

Question about VDJ on 2 computers? license and serial issue

I just got my DJ control steel but am wary to install the software yet, I have multiple computers and will be getting a new one for DAW maybe soon and I want to know if I will be able to install the VDJ DJC series (I think version 5) one more than one machine. I know it has a serial number, but I need to know if I can use it more than once. I'm not going to give any copies out, I just have a desktop and a laptop, and I might have a dedicated DAW soon. This is what has kept me from buying any Steinberg software. I'm not paying more than once for software. I only use one copy at a time in my house.

Bonjour à tous, je voudrais savoir si quelqu'un est passé d'une steel ou RMX à de vraies platines et s'il pouvait nous en aire partager son expérience.
1) Quelles sont les différences (possibilités supplémentaires avec les platines ?) majeures ?
2) Est ce qu'on prend de mauvaises habitudes avec la steel (synchronisation auto) ?
Voilà si quelqu'un pouvait m'éclaircir ce serait symp car l'achat de platines

Hi,
Here's a mapping I've been working on (for a while now) for people who own a Hercules RMX and are fans of this site.
Features:
*a fader FX mode à la Ean Golden http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjjA0xPkXMs
*cue-point juggling in beat mash mode
*4 deck control
This mapping is based on the regular mapping from the Hercules site so check there for basic info on what does what. I'll be working on a version with comments that explain the logic behind the mapping.
How to get to the goodies:
1) There are a few main modifiers;

a. The scratch key cc41 this is a shift key type modifier
b. The Scratch key cc41 + source 1 other then (you may want to disable both source buttons!)
c. The Scratch key cc41 + source 2 this is a toggle type modifier that allows you go into a fader FX like mode (this disables most transport controls and volume faders other then the main volume and the x-fader)
i. (Please note there that in this mode there is no jog wheel deck control only a fader FX mode! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjjA0xPkXMs[/url)
ii. Once Mod 3 has been toggled on you can turn on the FX banks for deck A by hitting the scratch key cc41 + cc1, cc4, cc2, cc5 - FX bank 1, 2, 3, 4.
iii. Once Mod 3 has been toggled on you can turn on the FX banks for deck B by hitting the scratch key cc41 + cc25, cc28, cc26, cc29 - FX bank 1, 2, 3, 4.
iv. Once Mod 3 has been toggled on you can turn on the FX banks for deck C by hitting the scratch key cc41 + cc3, cc6, cc9, cc10 - FX bank 1, 2, 3, 4.
v. Once Mode 3 has been toggled on you can turn on the FX banks for deck D by hitting the scratch key cc41 + cc27, cc30, cc33, cc34 - FX bank 1, 2, 3, 4.
vi. Once has been toggled on you can also control 2 complex effects decks (FX bank 3, & FX bank 4) with the EQ knobs and the EQ kills.
vii. For BEAT MASHING (cue chords - again in mode 3) you have access to four (4) cue point keys on each deck where:
viii. keys cc1, cc2, cc3, cc9, on deck A points 1-4 respectively
ix. keys cc4, cc5, cc6, cc10, on deck B points 1-4 (I may move this)
x. keys cc4, cc5, cc6, cc10, on deck C points 1-4 (I may move this)
xi. keys cc28, cc29, cc30, cc34, on deck D points 1-4 (I may move this)

The Scratch key cc41 + cc20 or cc24 will toggle on/off the cue listening for the deck above/below it (depending if modifier 2 is on or not)
Please test it out and let me know if you like it. Please also let me know about any bugs by replying here.
Please see the attached file for more info (where the keys are). If there is any interest, I'll keep updating the file. Uh, whats's up with the Hercules web site. Appears it's parked, the page is all in French. Did they not pay their webhosting bill or something? Customers need info on products and we get a page parked message? Not good, I hope the company is doing well, I just ordered a DJ control Steel, my first deck.
