Ok so a few days ago i bought the DJ Hercules MP3 e2 and am pleased with it mostly so far. It came with a very simple version of VDJ but i already have VDJ pro so would much prefer to use that version. I'm trying to figure out how to get the loop and effects buttons to work but can't seem to figure it out. They work in the version that came with the item but don't want to work with VDJ Pro. I'm thinking i have to somehow configure it in Pro to get them to work on the midi controller.

Does anyone know how to do this? I would greatly appreciated some help. Thanks so much!

Hello Ethan,

In Virtual 6.1 Pro controlled by  DJ Control MP3 e2, all DJ Control MP3 e2 keys run perfectly, including the Loop buttons (1-, 2-, 4-, 8-beat loops).
Please check if your version of VirtualDJ 6 Pro is after 6.0.2, since in previous versions the DJ Control MP3 e2 map was not included (you can check in VirtualDJ Pro Config > Mappers that DJ Control MP3 e2 map is activated. If you use an older version, the map is probably DJ Control MP3 map, whose loop and effects buttons are different than DJ Control MP3 e2 buttons).

Ah that would be the problem. I am running Virtual DJ Version 5 something. I'll upgrade to 6.1 :).

One other question is have, sometimes when using VDJ Pro 5 i get crackles and pops while moving the crossfader and eq knobs. I believe that is a problem with Virtual DJ and not the midi controller. Will upgrading to 6.1 fix these issues?

Thanks for all your help

Hello Ethan,

For crackles and pops while moving the crossfader: there are 2 possible causes:
- if the crackles and pops remain while you have stopped moving the crossfader, the DJ software is struggling against a decrease of CPU ressources, so it means you have a background task taking CPU ressource, generally a scan task as wifi or antivirus, and the solution is to disable the wifi, cut the network access and close the antivirus while you mix
- if the crackles and pops last just as long as you move a fader or an equalization button:  it is a bug of some older versions of VirtualDJ in WDM. You should either take a newer version of VirtualDJ or switch your sound in ASIO. If your sound board has no ASIO driver, you can install Asio 4 All , set your sound card in Asio via Asio 4 All, and run VirtualDJ in Asio.

hello,
I have a simple problem. I cannot for the life of me get the  play_pause action to work seperately for deck 1 and deck 2, using virtual dj pro 6.1.   I have recently updated from the LE version of virtual dj to virtual dj pro.  With the LE version this problem was not an issue as it is already mapped to play_pause seperately for deck 1 and 2. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Russell
