Ok,

So its that time and im bringing in the mix, from where im standing its sounds fine, BUT when i listen back to the recording afterwards the main song that was playing is at a nice level and when the mix comes in the level seems to drop quite alot.
Is there a reason for this? or a way that they will be at the same volume level?

Kind Regards

It would help if you mentionned what DJ software you are using and with which console.

As a general rule, most software recording function work the same: then record the signal sent to the main mix output, relative to the crossfader and deck volume level positions.

Settigns like Autogain and limiter could possibly have an influence on the output. It's a good idea to normalize all your songs so that there outputs is same, preventing potential surprises.

You can use a software like MP3Gain to put all your music to the same volume:

http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/

The result will be that since all the songs will have the same output level, you won't have bad surprises like cueing to a new song which is much louder or quieter than the one you are currently playing.
