Hello to the comunity!!

It's my first post here, unfortunly  it's about a problem in my Dj console(at least i think it is!)

I have a Asus Laptop with Windows XP SP3, CPU 2.0Ghz , 2.5Gb Ram,Hdd 120Gb Sata.

The console is installed with the latest driver/firmware,and i work with Virtual DJ 5.2Pro.

In virtual DJ i have the:

Presets:Fastest

Latency:Auto

Safe Mode - Overclock: uncheked

The thing is,that in the Hercules Control Panel, when i try to select the sound mode->to Asio(instead of WDM)when i close the aplication, and after that i re-open it to see if it's in the same mode,it automatacli changes to WDM,i can't get it  to stick in ASIO mode.Funny it's that everithing works fine in Virtual dj,i don't ear any strange sounds when i play my music, but i would like it to play in Asio mode.

What's hapening?

Thks

Obs:sorry for the bad english!

In order to use VDJ in ASIO mode,

- make your settings in the control panel before launching VDJ

- Once done,  in VDJ Sound Setup, configure as follow:
- Input : None
- Output(s): Headphone
-Soundcard: DJ Console RMX > then check the box " Apply EQ on External sources"

Hello David,

The ASIO mode is generally better because it lets you choose your audio settings (latency (buffer size), sampling rate (44KHz or 48KHz) and sampling resolution (16 or 24-bit)) while WDM has a fixed resolution, latency and sampling rate, and because WDM cannot let you activate separately 2 stereo inputs in WDM on a USB sound device. Moreover, some DJ software are not really compatible with WDM (as Traktor, whose WDM mode is bad).

What is your DJ Console model: DJ Console, DJ Console Mk2 or DJ Console Rmx?

Answering to technical questions with
- more technical details than needed is NEVER a problem,
- less technical details than needed is ALWAYS a problem

Thks Maxdjack!

I have the  Dj Console RMX.

The thing is that everything works fine(although i think the driver released as Hercules DJ Console Series - 2009_HDJS_1 package works better with the Virtual Dj 5.2 version,it was  more stable and responsive)

but when i tried to change to Asio it diden't worked!but with the changes that DJ Phatso said, it's ok

now I will see now how everything works!

Thks for everythingLaughing

Hello davidream,

VirtualDJ DJC 5.2, included with DJ Console Rmx, always switches the Rmx in ASIO.
Whether your DJ Console Rmx is in ASIO or in WDM when you click on VirtualDJ 5 DJC icon, VirtualDJ 5 DJC switches the DJ Console Rmx in ASIO.

VirtualDJ 5 Pro controls the switch between ASIO and WDM: in VirtualDJ > More > Sound Setup panel, when you choose "DJ Console Rmx" as sound card
- if you check the box "Apply Eq on external inputs", you switch in ASIO,
- if you uncheck this box "Apply Eq on external inputs", you switch in WDM.

When meeting technical issue, you should take the time to describe your configuration as
- DJ Console version (example: Rmx, Mk2, Mk1)
- Windows version (example; XP Service Pack 3, 32-bit)
- computer configuration (model name, laptop or desktop, processor type & speed, RAM quantity)
- DJ Console driver version (example 2009_HDJS_3)
- VirtualDJ complete version (for example: VirtualDJ 5.2.2 DJC, or VirtualDJ 6.0.2 Pro)
since forum users cannot know your computer.

Hello Davidream,

Yes, sorry, I had not seen you had mentionned your configuration. If you have VirtualDJ Pro license, you should try VirtualDJ Pro 6.0.2.

No prob!Laughing

i tried the VDJ 6.0.1, but at that time the  Dj console rmx diden't worked very well...unresponsive and bugged...(but i had the Hercules DJ Console Series - 2009_HDJS_1 instaled...)

At this moment i'm working with the VirtualDj 5.2Pro,and with the ASIO option ON(finally!!!)everything works better that before(with WDM)but the big difeence between both modes(that i've noticed)is when you scratch,it's a completly diferent thing!!!

I will try with the new driver-firmware the VDJ 6.0.2,and give some feedback!

Thks
